50 Days: Day 21

So many of these scriptures and the lessons they teach could be put together. I really feel like the knowledge in the scriptures is like a huge puzzle where many pieces fit together with other pieces. Everything in the scriptures is related and goes together.
Several scriptures from Section 88 of the Doctrine and Covenants: Verses 63-65  "Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name it shall be given unto you, that is expedient for you; And if ye ask anything that is not expedient for you, it shall turn unto your condemnation." This goes along with James 1:5-6, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." Obviously the scripture in James led to the restoration of the gospel. But it's important to remember that these scriptures are also a pattern for receiving revelation for all of us.
Other wonderful verses in Section 88 remind us what we should strive to teach and to learn, "Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand; Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—That ye may be prepared in all things when I shall send you again to magnify the calling whereunto I have called you, and the mission with which I have commissioned you." (Verses 78-80) and verse 118, "And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith." Great advice!
