50 Days: Day 19

Today, we have another scripture from Psalms. Chapter 55:22, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." And from the Doctrine and Covenants 87:8, "Wherefore, stand ye in holy places, and be not moved, until the day of the Lord come; for behold, it cometh quickly, saith the Lord." We must not move from holy places but the Lord will also protect us and not move us if we are righteous. From Elder Clayton in October 2009 General Conference, "Burdens provide opportunities to practice virtues that contribute to eventual perfection." Next time I feel burdened, I hope I remember that it is an opportunity to practice virtue. This is also why we need to continually read and ponder the scriptures and why we have conference every six months: we need to be constantly reminded.
