50 Days: 18 days to go
These scriptures give me hope in times of trial. 1 Corinthians 10:13, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." And Alma 13:28, "But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering."
I like what Alma adds, that we must pray to not be tempted. We can't purposely go into tempting situations and expect to be protected. We must do our part of avoid temptation but in trials, we will be protected to not have more than we can handle. I'm sure the parents of the school children who were senselessly killed are feeling very overwhelmed with their trial. I pray that they will find the peace of God in their lives and have the assurance I have, that those children are with Christ.
