The week I dread

So here it is . . . the week I dread . . . the week that makes me crazier than I already am. . . the week that I eat more Sonic food than should be allowed by law. . . the week I get home late every night. . . the week that ends with me in a dark, fully decorated gym listening to loud music and longing for a place to put my feet up. Yep, it's Prom week. And yes, PROM is a four-letter word to me. This is my fourth prom. I'm not as stressed as I was the first year. But when I start thinking I know what I'm doing, then I wake up in the middle of the night realizing I've forgotten some important detail.
I know you're thinking, "Why does she do it if she hates it so much?" Well, I'll tell you--I HAVE NO IDEA. I think it's part "I do it for the kids" and part "I'm pretty good at it so I'll keep doing it." I do enjoy the gratitude of the kids and the feeling of satisfaction that I can make a HS gym look like a casino, or a street in Paris, or a Hollywood premiere, or this year a masquerade ball. It's my one claim to fame on my resume. Oh well, I'll gird my loins and this time next week the 2009 prom will be just a memory, and I'll post the pictures. 2008 Hollywood Premiere Prom
