50 Days: Day 11
I must be on an Old Testament kick because Day 11 is also found there. As difficult as the Old Testament can be, it is so beautiful and full of wonderful lessons and stories.
1 Samuel 15:22 "And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."
This scripture was given at a time when offering animal sacrifices was very important to the Israelites to honor God. But obviously as important as offering sacrifice was, it was more important to be obedient. This is a very important lesson--we will never go wrong when we are obedient to the Lord.
