50 Days: Day 7

One week down, about seven to go! Are we having fun yet? Is this a good way to lead up to a milestone birthday? 

Day 7 scripture is two scriptures about the Holy Spirit. 1 Kings 19: 11-12 "11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:

 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."

And Helaman 5:30 "And it came to pass when they heard this voice, and beheld that it was not a voice of a great tumultuous noise, but behold, it was a still voice of perfect mildness; as if it had been a whisper, and it did pierce even to the very soul."

The Lord's spirit isn't going to hit us over the head to let us know what we should be doing. Many times I have wished for sky writing to let me know what to do. But the promptings are very subtle that we must listen for. We must train ourselves to be in tune with God. We can easily tune out His voice through all the distractions of the world. This scripture reminds me to not let the distractions of the world overcome my spiritual ears.
